Here, time becomes flexible, and the past appears in all the luminosity of its instantaneous presence, miraculously recovered and received as an epiphany. The theme of these short poems is the rediscovery of childhood, whose sensible paradise is illuminated by an awareness of the sacred immanent in the girl's first wonder, now simultaneously yearning and joy. Thus, there is a double rapture: that of the mature woman who sees herself as a child enraptured in her first contact with the world. Double joy, double jubilation. |
