סיכום:Twenty years after Hong Kong’s return to China, much of the public discourse has focused on political debates—electoral reform, the “fifty years unchanged” framework, and questions of future self-determination. But beyond these disputes, have we overlooked equally important transformations in Hong Kong’s collective ethos that have been quietly taking shape since 1997? What exactly is the “Hong Kong spirit,” beyond instrumental slogans and rhetoric used to gloss over crises? Have we explored and reflected on it enough? This volume brings together local scholars dedicated to Hong Kong studies. Shifting the lens away from political slogans, the authors return to society, livelihoods, and culture, examining with sharp insight how the notion of the Hong Kong spirit has flowed and transformed over time. The book creates space for reflection, preparing a foundation for the next generation’s sense of grounding and direction.
