In celebration of the first decade dedicated to promoting and reflecting on pedagogical practices in Higher Education, the 10th edition of the Congresso Nacional de Práticas Pedagógicas no Ensino Superior (CNaPPES) was hosted by the Instituto Superior de Contabilidade e Administração do Porto (ISCAP). This marked the return to Porto, this time at the Instituto Politécnico do Porto, of the largest event dedicated to sharing pedagogical practices in Portugal. Once again, CNaPPES brought together higher education faculty from Portuguese universities and polytechnics, both public and private, from all regions of the country and across all scientific fields to foster interaction and the sharing of ideas, disseminate projects, and expand and strengthen ties among communities of pedagogical practices in Higher Education. In accepting the challenge of organizing this edition, ISCAP is committed to honoring the core values of CNaPPES . These principles include pedagogical sharing in higher education, promoting collaboration across institutional boundaries and across scientific fields, and integrating both university and polytechnic education. The 10th edition of CNaPPES , held on July 8 and 9, 2024, featured a special session commemorating CNaPPES 's 10th anniversary, two plenary sessions, six parallel sessions, in which 136 papers were presented, and 22 posters were exhibited. Overall, the presentations covered a diverse range of topics, demonstrating the richness of the pedagogical practices under discussion. The program also featured two renowned keynote speakers, who explored important themes: Patrícia Rosado Pinto with “A formação pedagógica dos docentes do ensino superior: “água mole em pedra dura tanto bate até que fura” and Mário Grande-de-Prado with "Navigating Ethical Quandaries in Academia: A Multifaceted Exploration ". Following the congress, 45 articles were submitted for the 10th edition's Proceedings Book, organized by topics that demonstrate the event's thematic diversity. The final assessment of CNaPPES.24 is extremely positive. The event's success was made possible by the dedication of the organizers, speakers, and participants, and by ISCAP's commitment to welcoming and honoring the congress's ideals. The leadership of the 11th edition is now passed to the Universidade de Évora, with best wishes for continued celebration and promotion of pedagogical practices in higher education. |
