Designed as a tribute to our esteemed colleague and friend, Necdet Neydim, this publication is a collective effort of six young academics who were either supervised by him or were part of his academic circle. These individuals, who contribute to Sözelti1, an online journal of children’s and youth literary studies, have come together to honour Necdet Neydim’s significant contributions to our field.
As can be expected, this book is a reflection of the profound influence of Neydim’s approach. It serves as a testament to how his works are perceived and upheld by the next generation of academics, making it a significant addition to the literature on children’s and youth studies.
It is precisely this impulse that lies behind the emergence of this tribute book. The authors, driven by their deep interest in children’s and youth literature, were not merely invited to the idea of a tribute book. On the contrary, the idea of such a publication emerged from their desire and mobilization. This idea determined the book’s concept and shaped the articles’ topics, directly reflecting the authors’ profound interests. Neydim’s quotes often enrich the reviews, but more importantly, this book has brought together a collection of essays that reflect a widely agreed approach. When we talk about a common approach, we refer to a background deeply influenced by Neydim’s work, his educational activities in the academy, and his co-production activities with the authors of this book. |

Published Bu yayın, Türkiye’de çocuk gençlik edebiyatı araştırmaları denildiğinde ilk akla gelen isimlerden olan ve geçtiğimiz yıl emekliye ayrılan Prof. Dr. Necdet Neydim’in bilimsel ve akademideki eğitim çalışmalarının çıktılarından sayılır. Meslektaşım, iş arkadaşım ve dostum Necdet Neydim’e armağan olarak tasarlanan bu kitapta yazısı olan 6 isim, onun tez danışmanlığını yaptığı veya akademik çalışmaları kapsamında yakın çevresi içinde etkileşimde bulunduğu genç kuşak akademisyenler. Ayrıca Necdet Neydim’in son dönemlerdeki öne çıkan çalışmalarından biri olan çevrimiçi çocuk gençlik edebiyat araştırmaları dergisi Sözelti’nin ekibinde de yer alan kişiler. Beklenebileceği üzere kitapta yer alan yazılarda Neydim’in temsil ettiği yaklaşımın etkileri ve yansımaları açıkça görünüyor; dolayısıyla bu yayın Neydim’in yürüttüğü çalışmaların sonraki kuşak akademisyenlerce alımlanma ve sürdürülme biçimini yansıtan metinler gözüyle de okunabilir. Bu armağan kitabın ortaya çıkmasının arkasında da tam böyle bir itki yatıyor. Armağan kitaplarda genelde olduğundan farklı bir gelişim süreci izledi bu kitabın ortaya çıkışı. Bir armağan kitap fikri üzerine yazarlara davet gitmedi, tersine, burada yazısı olanların istek ve hareketlenmeleriyle böyle bir yayın yapma fikri ortaya çıktı. Kitabın konseptini de bu fikir belirledi. Yazılardaki konular yazarların çocuk gençlik edebiyatı alanında kendi ilgilerine göre şekillenirken, incelemelerdeki yaklaşımlarda sıklıkla Neydim’den alıntılara rastlanıyor; ama bundan daha önemlisi, geniş ölçüde ortaklaşan bir yaklaşımı yansıtan bir yazılar derlemesi bir araya gelmiş oldu.
