Beskrivelse
Summary:The multiple transitions towards a post COVID-19 are considered to be the recent APEC agenda. While it may be true that commercial liberation and the reduction of the barriers that impede Direct Foreign Investment in the APEC economies continue being priority topics in the agenda of this cooperation mechanism, these topics are not the only ones debated within APEC, nor are they the same, according to the context under which they operate. The complexities of the world and the challenges that humanity faces are reflected in the priorities, objectives, and plans of action that are proposed from APEC, under the spirit of open regionalism, with the intention of creating the conditions that may make sustainable development possible. APEC impulses a series of proposals with the intention of generating the right conditions for a balanced and sustainable development, which makes inclusion possible, breaks the gender breach and limits or reduces the negative effects that are generated on the environment derived from economic activities. Likewise, it invites one to think of plans of action to improve connectivity in all its forms and impulse innovation, science, and technology. This book offers a series of reflections from a multidisciplinary perspective on the challenges of APEC in the context of a world framed by the complex post COVID-19 transitions.
