This collection delves into the intersections of these ideas, exploring the fluid boundaries between human identity, artificial intelligence, and digital landscapes. Posthumanism challenges traditional humanist perspectives, questioning the supremacy of human agency in a world increasingly shaped by machines, biotechnologies, and networked intelligences. Cyberpunk, on the other hand, has long envisioned dystopian futures where technology is both a tool of liberation and oppression, blending human consciousness with the virtual and mechanical. By bringing together diverse perspectives, this peer reviewed edited volume aims to illuminate the philosophical, literary, cinematic, aesthetic, cultural and ethical dimensions of Posthumanism and Cyberpunk. Whether through theoretical discussions or fictional explorations, the essays presented here invite the reader to reflect on what it means to be human in an age of rapid technological transformation. We hope this edited volume serves as a thought-provoking companion for scholars, writers, and enthusiasts navigating the ever-blurring lines between the organic and the synthetic, the real and the virtual, while also inviting them to explore these shifting frontiers and reconsider what it truly means to be human in the age of machines. 2025-10-31T08:32:31Z 2025-10-31T08:32:31Z 2025-10-22 book 978-605-07-1822-5 https://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/168721 eng image/png Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International https://iupress.istanbul.edu.tr/book/cyberpunk-and-posthumanism/home Istanbul University Press 10.26650/B/AH09SSc07.2025.010 In the ever-evolving landscape of thought, culture, and technology, two concepts have continuously reshaped our understanding of humanity and the digital age: Posthumanism and Cyberpunk.
