| Sažetak: | In the wake of a doctoral research project, the author offers us a critical edition of the musical manuscript 51 from the General Library of the University of Coimbra, the cornerstone of his research into the 17th century musical production from the Monastery of Santa Cruz de Coimbra. This is the first of three volumes, each dealing with one of the liturgical feasts to which the contents of the manuscript are dedicated: Christmas, Ascension and Corpus Christi.
The present publication, constructed according to a philological and critical positivist approach, is the result of an intense period of revision and maturating of the critical edition of this repertoire through multiple concerts and the recording on CD (Zuguambé, Harmonia Mundi, 2017).
Part of the Mundos e Fundos project, this is a rigorous and graphically carefully crafted work that offers us a privileged window to the collection of 17th century musical cartapácios now kept in the General Library of the University of Coimbra. |
