要約:This anthology results from the research project “Caring Futures”, which emerged from the knowledge deficit concerning care ethical aspects of technologies. The team of authors is interdisciplinary, and the anthology’s contribution lies in the fact that it presents theoretically and methodologically distinct lenses on a common problem: the care ethical challenges arising from the increasing introduction of technology into human care. Different perspectives shed light on how care, technology, and knowledge production are entangled and enacted in everyday practices, exposing various relationalities and power dynamics. Set against the backdrop of the Norwegian welfare state, the chapters in this anthology explore fundamental questions about what care and humanity are and can be, and how future care will be exercised (with whom and what, and for whom). The aim is to move beyond a dichotomous understanding of technology and care and instead bridge the gap between the two to contribute to sound healthcare services. The hope is that this anthology will raise awareness of the importance of care ethical reflections. The ethics of care for technology-mediated practices is an ongoing way of thinking and acting in relationships and must be encouraged, supported, and developed not only in healthcare services but throughout society as a whole to materialize in a caring future.
