Zusammenfassung:The arrangement of a ‘series’ of portraits – in which each chapter is dedicated to a specific author – allows the volume to retrace the evolution of Sardinian fiction in the forms of literary modernity between the 19th and 20th centuries, when it gained national prominence not only thanks to prominent figures such as Nobel Prize winner Deledda, or absolute masterpieces such as Satta's Il giorno del giudizio (Judgment Day), but also thanks to a series of writings that adopted increasingly refined strategies. Starting from biographical events and stylistic or linguistic choices that retain a strongly individual imprint, the gallery of figures provides an opportunity to reconstruct, from time to time, lines of force, paths, and shared reflections. However, it should not be overlooked that the great richness of Sardinian literature also lies in its irreducible variety.
