The articles collected in the volume focus on: the role of narrative medicine in clinical practice, the significance of narrative in experiencing illness and disability in medical educatio), selected methodological aspects of narrative medicine, the narratives of doctors and patients in medical discourse, the relations between literature and medicine as well as between literature and logopaedics and clinical linguistics. The first comprehensive publication in Polish devoted to a new field of research focused on building the right relationship between medical staff and patients, facilitating, among other things, joint decision-making. Important reading for doctors, psychologists, therapists, rehabilitation specialists, and their patients, as well as for medical sociologists, linguists, and literary scholars.
