| Shrnutí: | An academic textbook providing students and doctoral candidates in many fields of study—such as medicine, biology, biophysics, biochemistry, pharmacology, psychology, philosophy, biocybernetics, cognitive science, biomedical engineering, computer science, automation, robotics, mechatronics, and bionics – with the scientific basis for using neurocybernetics in the description and analysis of biological systems or biologically inspired technical systems.
A team of authors led by Professor Ryszard Tadeusiewicz from the Biocybernetics Laboratory at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, a member of the presidium of the Polish Academy of Sciences and an eminent expert on this subject who has authored numerous publications on similar topics, presents various areas of neurocybernetics. The book discusses the basics of anatomy and numerous models of the real nervous system at various levels of functioning – from neurons and the synapses connecting them to the complete human brain, as well as the use of neurocybernetic tools in medical diagnostics and engineering solutions.
The book concludes with an extensive presentation of artificial intelligence systems currently under development, which allow, among other things, the construction of virtual characters called avatars. |
