Each chapter focuses on a different approach to emblematics, fostering new directions in research. The work explores the connections to iconographical studies; investigates emblematic sources applied on material culture; discusses the didactic and/or propagandistic use of emblems and showcases the challenges of publishing manuscripts and digital editions.
