Beskrivelse
Summary:In the year in which we commemorate the fourth centenary of the canonization of Queen Isabella of Aragon (1270-1336), the authors of this book intend to revisit the sixteenth-century manuscript, a copy of the quee's medieval hagiography, preserved in the Machado de Castro National Museum and the oldest of its kind that has survived to us. In addition to the facsimile and the full transcription of the text, we sought, through the multiplicity of knowledge brought together, to achieve results of significant importance from the historiographical, palaeographic-diplomatic and codicological points of view. Also worthy of note is the study of the illuminations, added in 1592, as well as the theological and juscanonical notes on sanctity that precede the Indexation.
