Jesus und seine ersten Nachfolger*innen intendierte keine eigene Religion abseits vom Judentum zu begründen. Das sogenannte „Parting of the Ways“ zwischen Juden und Christen war ein komplexer Prozess, der sich über fünfhundert Jahre erstreckte und an unterschiedlichen Orten zu unterschiedlichen Zeiten wie auch aufgrund unterschiedlicher Gründe erfolgte.
