Descripció
Sumari:We live in a world that is increasingly dominated and determined by digital technologies. But what exactly is »digital«? And what does it mean to be a subject in a digital world? Benedetta Milani answers these questions by drawing on Ernst Cassirer's philosophy of symbolic forms. The author develops a philosophical systematization of the aesthetics and techniques of digital forms of subjectivation, thereby updating and expanding Cassirer's Philosophy of culture. Terms such as technology, digital, immersion, network, digital subject, and, last but not least, myth are redefined and understood as moments of a certain form of symbolization that model new world relations. The study thus offers orientation in the digital world as well as a critique of its current conditions.
