| description | The work comprises seven chapters aimed at providing a comprehensive framework for the digital transformation of education in Panama, integrating an inclusive, ethical, and quality-oriented approach. Based on a multidisciplinary diagnosis, it analyzes structural challenges such as low performance on international assessments, school dropout rates, and access gaps, while proposing evidence-based strategies for technology to foster equity and innovation. The central focus is developed in the chapter dedicated to artificial intelligence in Panamanian education, which proposes a national plan supported by four pillars: equitable infrastructure, transformative teacher training, contextualized tools, and ethical governance. The work also highlights the conceptualization of digital equity at three levels—access, use, and outcomes—to prevent bias and optimize learning. An applied perspective is incorporated through an examination of AI in physiotherapy education, showing its potential to personalize learning and enhance assessment through intelligent tutors and clinical simulators. Likewise, clinical simulation is analyzed as a competency-based evaluation method, acknowledging its effectiveness despite the high implementation costs. The transition toward hybrid learning models is addressed from both theoretical and practical angles, revealing methodological advancements as well as administrative pressures that require integrated information systems and institutional restructuring. Finally, the work deepens the discussion on inclusion through proposals grounded in Universal Design for Learning and presents an innovative technopedagogical model (TP3-AI) for teaching Spanish, based on the TPACK framework, which promotes personalized and context-relevant learning environments aligned with current demands for communication and bilingualism. |
