Beskrivelse
Summary:From an economist’s perspective, transport markets must be understood on the basis of market theory and theories of public regulation. The chapters in this book use such an approach to discuss various transport-related issues. The topics are many—for example, the importance of Scandinavian transport research, pricing of ferry services, traffic forecasts, internationalization of aviation, competitive tendering in rail operations, freight transport models, traffic safety, cost–benefit analyses, and the consequences of tolls for the housing market. The anthology has been created by authors who wish to honor Professor Finn Jørgensen at the Business School, Nord University, on the occasion of his 70th birthday. For more than four decades, he has been a highly active and recognized lecturer and transport economist who has published scientific articles and reports, both nationally and internationally, on many of the same themes covered in this book.
