| Zusammenfassung: | In the present research, a general and its specific procedures are elaborated, whose objective is to contribute to improving the performance of the integral management of the supply chain of urban solid waste in cantons of Ecuador. The proposed procedure solves the insufficiencies of the previous tools analyzed in the construction of the referential theoretical framework, by including a multi-criteria model and having a systemic approach to continuous improvement based on processes. The research begins with the characterization of the chain under study and the identification of the indicators to be included in the diagnosis from a sustainability perspective. At the same time, a comprehensive performance indicator is proposed to assess the supply chain, along with the relevant scales for each of these indicators and the performance of the municipal solid waste supply chain. The results obtained allowed the diagnosis of the level of performance in which the management of urban solid waste is found, and consequently to project, through a multi-criteria mathematical model, the policies for the gradual improvement of said management. In the case of the urban solid waste supply chain of the Quevedo Canton of Ecuador, it allowed the identification of improvement opportunities based on the problems detected. In addition, the general research hypothesis proposed was verified by evidencing an improvement in the performance index of the chain under study after applying a set of improvements. |
