Shrnutí:Transparency of public information is a fundamental issue for modern public administration, since it allows citizens to know and evaluate how decisions are made and how public resources are used. In this sense, transparency has a direct impact on citizen participation and on the quality of public administration. This research was developed in the Autonomous Decentralized Municipal Government of San Jacinto de Buena Fe, with the objective of evaluating the transparency of public information in citizen participation. The research methodology was exploratory, descriptive and field research. Descriptive, deductive, analytical and statistical methods were applied to obtain the results. An interview was conducted with the mayor of the canton and 380 inhabitants eligible to participate in the due process were surveyed; the information collected was tabulated using SPSS V25. The results showed that transparency of public information is a key factor in promoting citizen participation; 37.89% of those surveyed indicated an interest in participating in decision-making. It is hoped that the results of the study will contribute to improving access to public information and strengthening citizen participation.
