| Riassunto: | This book examines the interrelationship between corruption and drug trafficking in Latin America, highlighting how both issues create a vicious cycle that perpetuates criminality and impunity in the region. Corruption not only facilitates the activities of drug trafficking organizations, but also undermines the institutions responsible for maintaining order and justice. Through an in-depth analysis of the historical and social contexts, we identify the factors that enable the expansion of these organizations, as well as the negative effects of corruption on the socioeconomic development of Latin American countries. An essential part of this analysis focuses on criminal law and its ability to respond to the challenges presented by corruption and drug trafficking. The book is based on an analytical approach that combines the review of previous studies, reports from international organizations and emblematic cases in different countries of the region. It presents a detailed examination of the relevant reality in relation to corruption and drug trafficking, using statistical data that illustrate the impact of these issues on society. |
