Тойм:The papers comprising this fourth volume of Estudios Luso-Hispanos de Historia del Derecho / Estudos Luso-Hispanos de História do Direito present, in a fully developed form and following a rigorous double-blind peer review, a significant portion of the research presented at the 5th Luso-Hispanic -Luso Conference of Legal Historians held at the Faculty of Law of the University of Salamanca from 3 to 5 July 2024. In addition to Professor Elisa Speckman’s magnificent work on the jury system in Spain and Mexico between 1869 and 1936, the volume features innovative research by young Spanish and Portuguese legal historians covering a broad chronological span, beginning in the Late Middle Ages and extending to the transitions to democracy in both countries in the 1970s. Once again, these Estudios/Estudos demonstrate the vitality of Luso-Hispanic legal historiography and the growing intellectual ties established in recent years between the two sides of the Iberian border.
