| Gaia: | In the approach proposed by Amado Silvero in The best is the enemy of the good. Approaches to the architectural work of the Eva Perón Foundation (1948–1952), particular emphasis is placed on the construction of the idea of an “aesthetics of social justice,” a line of thought according to which the humble not only deserve access to housing and state services, but also essentially have the right to aesthetic enjoyment and to the symbolic appropriation of the canons of beauty and the spatial and architectural ideals of well-being that had previously been reserved only for elites. From this idea associated with Evita, one of the central elements of the foundations of Peronist power and thought is constructed. Thus, through this book, Amado Silvero invites us to understand Peronism (and particularly its architectural dimension) as a movement strongly based on Evita’s thought, rather than understanding Evita as merely a transmitter of Perón’s ideas.
