| Zusammenfassung: | The textbook addresses the issue of the functioning of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in a market economy. The aim of the publication is to present the basic legal, organizational, strategic conditions related to setting up and running a business. The publication is intended for management students enrolled in the course "Functioning of SMEs in a Market Economy," delivered in the form of lectures and exercises. The textbook discusses key issues, including legal forms of business activity, organizational employment structure, identification of key activities and target groups, and building a competitive advantage, including through innovation. The handbook presents numerous examples and best practices related to the current market situation. The authors address issues related to human resource management, competitiveness, access to sources of financing, and the impact of economic and technological factors on business operations. Particular attention is paid to the challenges facing entrepreneurs in a dynamically changing economic environment. Another important element of the publication is the analysis of the role of innovation and modern business models in building long-term market advantage in the SME market. The textbook has been designed in a didactic manner – each chapter contains definitions of concepts, case studies, problem-solving tasks, which develop students' analytical skills and prepare them to make informed business decisions. |
