Sammanfattning:This article examines the role of spin-offs in Ecuador as mechanisms for technology transfer and support for sustainable development, identifying their potential to energize the innovation ecosystem and contribute to the country's economic growth. The objective is to analyze the impacts of these spin-offs on the Ecuadorian economy and explore their challenges and opportunities, particularly in the creation of specialized jobs, economic diversification and sustainability. Through a literature review in academic databases, the study analyzes relevant sources that address the economic, social and environmental factors that affect the development of these companies. The findings indicate that spin-offs promote the circular economy and energy efficiency, attracting investment and generating high-skilled jobs. However, there are barriers such as limited access to financing, a restrictive regulatory framework and a shortage of talent in technological areas. The discussion highlights the importance of incentive policies and cross-sector collaboration to overcome these obstacles and strengthen the innovation ecosystem. In conclusion, support for spin-offs is crucial to build a sustainable and resilient economy in Ecuador, although their success depends on a favorable framework and the strengthening of local capacities
