Shrnutí:This study addresses the role of local associations within territorial sustainability processes and analyzes how, through their own organizational dynamics, they contribute to strengthening communities and promoting sustainable development. To this end, a qualitative, documentary approach was employed, systematically reviewing various academic works and contributions. This review revealed how local associations actively intervene in the territory and how their actions translate into concrete effects. The study also found that these groups foster cohesion among their members, promote specific forms of cooperation, and maintain frequent relationships with public and private institutions; these practices, in turn, have an impact on the economy, society, and/or the environment. On the other hand, the efficiency and effectiveness of local associations are influenced by internal and external limitations, which hinder the scope and sustainability of their actions. The discussion addresses the results of previous studies on social capital, collaborative governance, and the solidarity economy. It concludes that local associations play a crucial role in the sustainable development of the territories where they are located. Their actions in organizing resources, coordinating key stakeholders, and implementing social, economic, and environmental practices are some of the practices that contribute to longterm development.
