description The Reprint entitled “New Insights into Suicide and Mental Health Conditions” gathers cutting-edge research focused on the underlying neurobiology, clinical interventions, and methodological innovations addressing suicide and suicidal behavior in the context of mental health disorders. Suicide remains among the most urgent public-health challenges worldwide, and many individuals who die by suicide have longstanding psychiatric disorders, and yet face limited access to effective interventions. This Reprint highlights contributions that advance our understanding of etiological mechanisms, identify novel therapeutic approaches—including brain-based and neurophysiological interventions—and develop rigorous trial designs for use in high-risk populations. The scope spans pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions, brain stimulation techniques, digital and biomarker-driven risk prediction, psychometric instrument validation for suicidality screening across diverse settings, and contextual factors shaping implementation of evidence-supported strategies. With an emphasis on bridging translational neuroscience and clinical practice, this compilation aims to accelerate progress in preventing suicidal ideation and behavior and to improve outcomes for individuals affected by severe mental health conditions.
