These insights reveal exercise as a potent stimulus that induces adaptive changes across multiple organ systems, enhancing metabolic health, cognitive function, and longevity. Building on these developments, the second edition of the Special Issue “Focus on Exercise Physiology and Sports Performance” seeks to advance our understanding of how the human body responds to and benefits from exercise, how these responses can be optimized for performance and health, and how interdisciplinary collaboration continues to expand the boundaries of human movement science.
