description This publication reproduces articles from the Special Issue "Advances in Computer-Aided Technology II," which was published online in the open access journal Machines (ISSN 2075-1702). The collection includes eight articles and is part of the "Mechatronic and Intelligent Machines" Section. Industry 4.0 is focusing on the integration of digital technologies into manufacturing processes. It is defined by the incorporation of cutting-edge technologies such as additive technology, robotics, artificial intelligence, smart systems, Internet of Things, and data exchange into traditional manufacturing and production processes. Computer-aided systems (CAx) are a suite of software tools utilized in engineering and product development, spanning various phases of the product lifecycle. Advanced CAx tools integrate multiple aspects of product lifecycle management, including design, finite element analysis, manufacturing, and production planning. Companies are adopting advanced robotics, cloud computing, and digital twins to increase efficiency and flexibility. With the shift towards Industry 4.0, the concept of the digital twin has gained significance, necessitating adaptations in existing CAx systems to align with this trend. The ongoing development of Industry 4.0 aims to create more sustainable, customizable, and responsive production methods.
