Summary:For the first time in Colombia, a book titled "From the Generation to the Sustainable Use of Sludge and Biosolids from Water and Wastewater Treatment" has been published, which compiles the research and experiences carried out in both Brazil and Colombia. The University of Boyacá has been a pioneer in these matters since 1982 when we started the Sanitary Engineering program and began making contacts with the University of Valle and the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná, with whom we signed the first Interinstitutional Cooperation Agreement in November 1984. In the development of this agreement, we had the visit of Professors Nicolau Leopoldo Obladen and Miguel Mansur Aisse, who with their experience showed us that research in wastewater was a new field for the research and training of our students.
