Description
Summary:The Exercises and Problems in the Introduction to Financial Mathematics textbook is addressed to students of the Mathematics programme at the Lublin University of Technology, for whom the “Introduction to Financial Mathematics” is one of the subjects taught in the first year of studies. The content of the textbook begins with accumulation processes and covers discrete and continuous annuities, discounting and discount rates, internal rate of return, loan repayment plans, bonds, and concludes with methods for the depreciation of fixed assets. Each chapter begins with a theoretical introduction, followed by a set of theoretical questions and straightforward calculation problems related to the presented theory. This is followed by a subchapter with illustrative problems and detailed solutions. The final subchapter contains problems designed for independent solving. The last chapter of the textbook provides answers to the more challenging problems.
