Whakarāpopototanga:This book is the result of the research project "Aging and Old Age, a Perspective from Human Body Movement and Health," developed by the Corps group, affiliated with the Physiotherapy program at the University of Boyacá. The work addresses the topic of aging, contextualized within the framework of Colombia's 2015-2024 human aging and old age policy. The elderly population of the country has been increasing. Characterized as a heterogeneous group with psychological, social, cultural, and biological particularities, it also presents changes in its physical and functional capacity and is exposed to Non-Communicable Chronic Diseases (NCCDs). In this context, the purpose of this text is to analyze aging from the physiotherapeutic understanding of Human Body Movement (HBM), which among its attributes includes functionality, thru which the individual performs in various public and private life scenarios. There are six chapters developed: I. Health-related quality of life in older adults with urinary incontinence, II. Falls in older adults, III. Evaluation of autonomy, independence, and functionality in older adults, IV. Physical activity and functionality in older adults, V. Support social networks in the quality of life of older adults and VI. Esthetics of the aging body.
