Description
Summary:Economic and planning activities should take into account the local natural environment. Geological structure and topography are fundamental components of the natural system. They determine water and soil conditions, influence the quality of building land and largely determine land use and development. This study presents the characteristics of sediments and landforms in the lowland part of Poland and their importance in spatial management. Landforms and deposits of glacial, fluvioglacial, aeolian, fluvial and peat origin are analyzed. The relationships between geological structure, landforms, and land use are demonstrated. This book is a scholarly work, but it can also be valuable support for practitioners preparing various planning studies, students of spatial management and those wishing to deepen their knowledge of the natural environment.
