Summary:The General Data Protection Regulation has introduced a strategy of reflexive, risk-based regulation, that is relatively little-known in Poland. This normative novelty poses a significant cognitive and practical challenge. This book considers the essence of reflexive and risk-based regulation. In doing so, it is written "with two hands": theoretical and practical. In a theoretical part, we analyse different ways of conceptualizing reflexivity and risk in regulation. The practical part is a presentation of the results of empirical research about to what extent these theoretical constructs are reflected in the activities of the President of the Personal Data Protection Office in Poland.
