Adopting an interdisciplinary perspective, the chapters explore topics such as enforced disappearance and the collective action of victims’ families as expressions of agency in the face of structural violence; the challenges posed by the popular election of judges for judicial independence and human rights standards; the historical evolution of mutual aid societies and labor unionism in Mexico; the criminal prosecution of phishing as a form of cyber fraud in Peru; and the territorial configuration of violence through its direct, structural, and cultural dimensions. The book also examines issues related to environmental law and institutional effectiveness, banking compliance in the context of artificial intelligence, family violence as a factor associated with criminal trajectories, and water governance within the framework of Peruvian water resources legislation. The book’s primary contribution lies in offering an interdisciplinary interpretation of emerging legal frontiers, understood not merely as normative boundaries but as spaces of contestation, adaptation, and institutional reconstruction. Collectively, the studies highlight the need for legal systems capable of engaging with scientific evidence, strengthening prevention strategies, improving state coordination, incorporating sustainability principles, and guaranteeing rights in increasingly complex global contexts. |
