Shrnutí:When invoked and evoked, the word is alive; it expands and occupies all available space. When narrated, it recreates an instant and a memory. The word turned into a story surrounds and condenses the chain of memories that today fill this blank space. The memories of the enlisted and career soldiers intertwine in stories made known through this book. Their voices captured here grant us insight into the subjectivity of the men who go to war and the human beings living behind the pixels. This book offers a journey through the memories of ten enlisted and career soldiers of the National Army—some belonging to Indigenous communities—following the fieldwork conducted in Guajira and Amazonas, where the territory, the communities, the ancestral legacy, identity, military service, family, and experiences, along with memories of violence and war, are portrayed as dynamic scenarios that inform their narratives. It also presents the possibility of existing in different places and uncertain times through hope and the connection of dreams to the intrinsic realities of each protagonist, highlighting their voices as a crucial part of peacebuilding.
