Die vorliegende Arbeit stellt den Versuch einer wissenschaftlich-kritischen Studie über Leben und Werk von Lev L'vovič Kobylinskij-Éllis (1879-1947) dar, um dadurch eine Lücke in der Erforschung des russischen Symbolismus zu schließen. Die vorliegende Studie soll folgende Fragen beantworten: Ist Éllis zu recht in Vergessenheit geraten? Hat er durch sein Werk einen Beitrag zum russischen Symbolismus geleistet? War sein Werk damals von Bedeutung? Ist es heute lediglich als Zeitzeugnis von Interesse oder auch als Selbstzeugnis von Belang?
