Die Studie behandelt Ursprung und Formierung der US-amerikanischen Reorientierungs-Konzepte für eine Nachkriegsdemokratisierung und deren Umsetzung nach 1945, dargestellt anhand des universitär-akademischen Wiederaufbaus in Österreich in den Jahren 1945-1955. Dabei werden die Veränderungen und Konkretisierungen der US-Reorientierung, beginnend in den Kriegsjahren bis zu den US-Propagandastrategien zur Zeit des ausbrechenden Kalten Krieges, dargestellt und analysiert.
