| description | Repetition has a major role in human culture. In lullabies and prayers, in protests and war
cries: from the cradle to the grave, repetition
is the companion to life’s essentials. In a
constantly revolving world there is no pure
repetition. Events never repeat themselves
precisely. This is equally true of repetition
in Literature and Art, where the use of
repetition is varied and frequent. How does
repetition work? And how can it be of use?
Déjà Vu unravels these questions in fifteen
chapters ranging from film remakes and
Baudelaire to the offer of Abraham and David
Lodge, Small World. Déjà Vu shows that
repetition has been used worldwide through
all times and cultures in visual arts, poetry,
music, literature and motion pictures. |

Déjà Vu shows that repetition has been used worldwide through all times and cultures in visual arts, poetry, music, literature and motion pictures. 2021-02-10T12:58:18Z 2016-12-31 23:55:55 2018-06-26 00:00:00 2020-04-01T14:18:11Z 2011 book 606231 OCN: 782878254 http://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/32749 9789087281465 https://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/29370 dut LUP Academic open access image/jpeg image/jpeg image/jpeg image/jpeg image/jpeg n/a n/a n/a n/a n/a https://library.oapen.org/bitstream/20.500.12657/32749/1/606231.pdf https://library.oapen.org/bitstream/20.500.12657/32749/1/606231.pdf https://library.oapen.org/bitstream/20.500.12657/32749/1/606231.pdf https://library.oapen.org/bitstream/20.500.12657/32749/1/606231.pdf https://library.oapen.org/bitstream/20.500.12657/32749/1/606231.pdf Leiden University Press 10.26530/OAPEN_606231 10.26530/OAPEN_606231 1dcb980a-389c-4b15-9b4f-13019f12dd19 9789087281465 OAPEN-NL 336 open access |
