Die Mikrohistorie untersucht das Grazer Straßenleben rund um den Ausbruch des Ersten Weltkriegs und wie sich in weiterer Folge der Burgfrieden (die Einheitsbildung) gestaltete. Die Grazer Bevölkerung transformierte sich wegen vieler Burgfriedensschlüsse und -brüche zu keiner sogenannten Kriegsgemeinschaft, die frei von politischen, nationalen, konfessionellen oder geschlechterrollenbezogenen Konflikten wäre.
