This background is crucial for the understanding of Chvyl'ovyj's journalism, which is also examined in the third chapter from the perspective of Spengler reception. |

In der vorliegenden Studie wird im ersten Kapitel im Zusammenhang mit der Biographie Chvyl'ovyjs offenen und in bisherigen Darstellungen kontrovers diskutierten Fragen nachgegangen. Vor diesem Hintergrund entsteht durch den kritischen Vergleich bisher publizierter biographischer Materialien eine eigene biographische Skizze. Dem nachfolgenden Kapitel über Chvyl'ovyjs Publizistik wird ein Abriß der Literaturpolitik in der Ukraine der 20er Jahre vorausgeschickt. Dieser Teil, der sich mit entsprechenden Passagen in der Biographie ergänzt, stellt in einem Querschnitt die Vertreter und Programme der ukrainischen Literaturvereinigungen und den Verlauf der Literaturdiskussion dar, wobei der Schwerpunkt bei Chvyl'ovyjs Aktivitäten liegt.
