Die Beiträge in diesem Band zeugen einerseits von der produktiven Kraft des Wechselspiels zwischen Tradition und Moderne, sei es im Theater, der Literatur oder der Populärkultur. Andererseits betonen sie die Bedeutung von Kulturmittlern, zu denen auch Übersetzer_innen gehören.
