Die hundert Jahre der Sattelzeit zwischen 1750 und 1850 waren geprägt von großen Veränderungen, die mit noch größeren Schlagworten in Verbindung gebracht werden. Diese tiefgreifenden Umwälzungen werden in dieser Untersuchung aus einem besonderen Blickwinkel betrachtet, aus der Perspektive einer Peripherie, die landläufig als nicht typisch für die Transformationsprozesse der Sattelzeit angesehen wird.
