Die Originalität der Dissertation ist in erster Linie darin zu sehen, daß Verfasser das Problem konjunktionaler Bedeutung "spektralisiert" hat, d.h. daß er, ausgehend von einer allgemein-systemischen Bedeutung oder Funktion, sowohl Verwendungsweisen (also spezifische, ableitbare Textbedeutungen) als auch argumentative Funktionen (also Textbedeutungen höheren Grades) nachgewiesen und analysiert hat.
