Appians Keltische Geschichte, in der die kriegerischen Auseinandersetzungen zwischen Römern und Kelten vom 4. Jh. v. Chr. bis zur Eroberung Galliens durch Caesar behandelt sind, stellt ungeachtet ihres trümmerhaften Zustandes eine wertvolle Quelle dar, enthält sie doch eine Reihe von Informationen, die entweder sonst nirgends belegt sind oder die sich deutlich von den bei anderen Autoren überlieferten Traditionen unterscheiden.
