It contains a detailed syntactic-semantic analysis of adposition usage and of the conjunction and subjunction system in the language, and describes the adverb types found in Kven based on their semantic function. The pronouns system as well is thoroughly described in the grammar. The syntax part is based on an ontological-semantic analysis of the verbs. The basic idea is that the verbs of the same ontological-semantic category have the same valency structure; that is, the actual semantic relationships are reflected in the sentence structure. The result is a description of frequent sentence types in the language, what kind of complements they take, and what case the complements have. The morphology part takes care of nominal and verbal inflection, and all of the inflectional categories are described in detail. Their usage is illustrated with example sentences. All linguistic phenomena treated in this grammar are richly illustrated with examples. For some linguistic phenomena, two or three different dialectal variants may occur. The grammar takes into account this dialectic variation in Kven. |

The grammar takes into account this dialectic variation in Kven. Kvensk grammatikk er en utførlig presentasjon av strukturen i kvensk, som er et finskbeslekta nasjonalt minoritetsspråk i Norge. Grammatikken er gjennomgått og godkjent av Kvensk språkting, vedtaksorganet for skolenormalen i kvensk. Boka ble utgitt første gang på kvensk i 2014, og Kvensk grammatikk er en noe revidert versjon, oversatt til norsk. Boka beskriver kvensk lydsystem med ortografi. Den inneholder en detaljert syntaktisk-semantisk analyse av adposisjonsbruken og av konjunksjons- og subjunksjonssystemet i språket. Den beskriver hvilke adverbtyper som fins i kvensk med utgangspunkt i den semantiske funksjonen av disse, og også pronomensystemet får en detaljert beskrivelse. Syntaksdelen bygger på en ontologisk-semantisk analyse av verbene. Den grunnleggende idéen er at verb av én og samme ontologisk-semantisk kategori har samme type valensstruktur, altså at de faktiske semantiske forholda gjenspeiler seg i setningsstrukturen. Resultatet er en beskrivelse av frekvente setningstyper i språket, hvilke utfyllinger de tar, og hvilke kasus disse utfyllingene står i. Morfologidelen tar seg av nomen- og verbbøying, og alle bøyingskategoriene blir detaljert beskrevet. Bruken av disse blir illustrert med setningseksempler. Alle språklige fenomener er rikelig illustrert med eksempler. Av ett og samme språklige fenomen fins det av og til to eller tre forskjellige dialektvarianter.
