Zeichnen war von der Frühen Neuzeit bis in die Moderne als Kulturtechnik fest in der Lebenswirklichkeit der europäischen Gesellschaft verankert. Der vorliegende Band fragt ausgehend von dieser Tatsache erstmals nach dem Stellenwert des Zeichnens auch in anderen Kulturräumen.
