Nach 1989 wächst das Interesse eines tschechischen Leserkreises an unkonventioneller, "anderer" Literatur, an Underground und Dissidententum, aber auch an den Autoren der literarischen Moderne und Avantgarde, die während des Sozialismus nicht zum offiziellen Literaturkanon gehörten. Ladislav Klima, Jakub Demi und auch Richard Weiner geraten in den Focus. Neben einer Reihe von Einzelpublikationen wird seit 1996 die seit langem geplante Werkausgabe Weiners herausgegeben. Richard Weiner erlebt eine regelrechte Renaissance.
