The study uses innovative textual interpretation to evaluate the whole continuum of his early works through all genres. It reveals Kurz’ use of a poetics derived from both contemporary literature (Schiller, Uhland, Schwab, and Mörike) and earlier works (Gottfried von Straßburg, Grimmelshausen).
