Prenant acte que la caricature est indissociable de ses supports de diffusion, il s’attache ensuite à montrer comment différentes formes éditoriales sont des sources pour le roman réaliste qui, dans sa récupération de la caricature, s’en inspire en même temps qu’il s’en distancie. Ce livre ambitionne ainsi d’étudier la relation entretenue par le roman réaliste à la caricature en s’appuyant sur deux œuvres majeures qui mettent en abyme ce contexte culturel, social et médiatique particulier : Illusions perdues de Balzac et L’Éducation sentimentale de Flaubert. |
