Folklorni obrazci so pestra skupina praviloma kratkih folklornih besedil~nekatera od teh uporabljamo v vsakodnevni komunikaciji in so še živa, druga so rezervirana za točno določene trenutke~nekatera pa izginjajo iz našega jezikovnega in kulturnega okolja. Njihova struktura, funkcija, tekstura in kontekst rabe so zelo različni, med seboj pa se močno razlikujejo tudi po dolžini: lahko obsegajo eno besedo (npr. pozdrav), eno poved (pregovori, uganke) ali pa manjše strnjeno besedilo (zagovor, molitev).
